The Pearl Islands is an archipelago with around 250 small islands most of them uninhabited.
The comes dates back from Spanish colonial times when the Conquistadors discovered the island in 1503 and gave the name due to the great amounts of pearls found there.
The biggest island is Isla del Rey by far but Contadora island is the most notable for tourists and is Pearl Island the island with the same name as the archipelago with the most modern and luxury project building on it.
